The climate of Madison can best be described as invigorating. Summer temperatures may reach over 100 degrees F and winter temperatures of -20 degrees F are not uncommon for the county. The average mean temperature for Lake County is 45 degrees F. Precipitation in the county is between 22 and 25 inches annually. Snowfall averages 28 inches per year, but can be as high as 60 inches or more.
